Hot summer time in the city of Chico on this day July 7, 2007:
I visited our local "Children's Park" seeking to experience, and view, the festivities around this sustainable Al Gore event. Our town is devoted. Ever present are stalwart activists. Blessed BE!
Arriving to hear Sherrie Quaman singing original songs with a voice clear and words spoken articulately, I smiled, and sat peace~filled. I watched as Nicole danced in the shade of the old Bidwell oaks, reminding me of Earthdancer days. Happy.

I was surprised to find an empty tent with one metal folding chair. Was it waiting for someone?
Deciding the shade was tempting I seized the opportunity to sit in peace, listening.

Making sure to wear dark glasses I hid the swollen teary eyes I carried this day.
Needing a people fix, and a bike ride, ...I joined in community refrain as the inner child wished for a magical potion to take away tears, even though at times they are necessary.
It is for greater learning that I now, for the first time in mature history, arise into the crows nest for vantage.

A lonely boat...floats....and thoughts sent forth on random rafts meet starry sea of sky.

Flight.
